My name is Adonia. My father died one year ago. I have a younger sister who is intellectually disabled. She can neither talk nor walk. My mother takes care of us both and looks after my grandparents as well. Since she always has to look after my sister, my mother cannot go for any work. I am now in 10th standard and I want to finish my school well and go for further studies, so that I can get a job and look after my family. Making Medical Dreams (MMD), a 501(c)3 nonprofit established by high school students, is a platform dedicated to uplifting and empowering the lives of children with various backgrounds through funding and supporting their education at every stage.
​MMD works with both local homeless shelters in the Bay Area, as well as impoverished communities globally, such as in Odisha, India, and Kropyvnytskyi, Ukraine.
