The Odisha Education Initiative

MMD is currently working together with Father Abraham Karukaparambil, a priest from Shanti Bhavan St. Peter's Minor Seminary located in the rural state of Odisha in India. After being ordained as a missionary priest for Odisha in 1995, Fr. Abraham has given his life in service to the region, providing his help in the battle against the oppression, exploitation, abject poverty, and inhuman life situations that continues to devastate the area.
Over the last 25 years of his service, Fr. Abraham has supported an increasing number of local students (over 70 individuals) in Odisha to pursue an education as a means to empower and bolster their families and communities. MMD is currently working with Fr. Abraham to fundraise and provide for every one of these children and break the vicious cycle of generational poverty that ravages the region today. |
